The Paris Olympics Sent Media A Branded 'Save the Date' with a Coffee Kit and Impressive Packaging

The Summer Olympics return next year in Paris, and the games' organizers and marketing teams are already reaching out to media members who will be on-site for the event.

NBC Sports broadcaster Rebecca Lowe, known for covering events like Premier League soccer and the Kentucky Derby, will once again be handling the Olympics for NBC, and posted a series of Instagram stories showing the incredible gift package sent to her by the Olympics.

Modeled after the over-the-top wedding invites you see on social media these days, and stylized with a luxurious Parisian design aesthetic, the box had all sorts of surprises itself, and that's not even mentioning the products inside.

The box has the Paris 2024 logo printed on the outside, and when opened, it invites the recipient to "save the date" with a note printed by The Knot, which many of us in our 30s recognize as the means of RSVPing to our friends' many weddings.

Inside the box, there's another printed message explaining that the gift is for while you wait for the games to officially begin.

Underneath that, there's a set of two branded coffee mugs, a branded French press, and a coffee grinder.

But, wait! There's more.

At the front of the box there's a little pull tab, which Lowe posted herself pulling to reveal a bag of French roast coffee and a box of macaroons.

All of it includes a gold "Paris 2024" interior, never losing sight of the branding moment for even a second.

It's cohesive, it's something that recipients will use on a daily basis, and the logo means it's something they'll keep as a souvenir from an exciting time in their career.

This really shows what you can do with packaging and kitting, too, combining consumable products with items like coffee mugs. This was enough of an experience for Lowe to post her unboxing on social media, and it was enough for people who follow her to see what she'd open up next.

Branding is such an integral part of the Olympics, too. The Tokyo 2020 games were a design hit (after a bit of a rocky start), and attendees have been buying all sorts of products featuring each host city's unique logo and mascot.
